As a UC Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for managing and overseeing projects related to Unified Communications (UC) within RWE IT Infra to ensure best IT Infra services for RWE. Your focus will be on strategic planning, project/budget management, and ensuring seamless global communication through effective project execution.

 

Your responsibilities

 

UC Engineer main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Design, develop, maintain, and operate Unified Communications (UC) solutions and services (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft Teams)
  • Lead and manage UC projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Implement and manage ITIL-based processes and security policies
  • Own service lifecycle management and further develop UC standards and guidelines
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for international UC services
  • Coordinate and evaluate external partners and vendors
  • Lead or support technical migrations and transformation projects
  • Support hybrid and in-person events across various formats
  • Actively contribute to the evolution of UC architecture within RWE

 

Your powerful skills
 

  • Several years of experience in UC and network technologies (Cisco/Microsoft preferred) and managing UC projects, including budgeting, planning, and execution.
  • Solid knowledge of media technology, including audio/video systems and live content streaming
  • Familiarity with Cisco Jabber, Webex, Microsoft Teams, and video conferencing platforms
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, LAN and WLAN (Cisco)
  • Experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Soft Skills:
    • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset and strong sense of ownership
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a structured working approach.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in an international setting
    • Creative thinking and a passion for driving innovation
    • Good knowledge of written and spoken English; German is a plus.

 

 

Advantageous, but not a must

  • Experience supporting hybrid events and managing live media formats
  • Interest in automation and emerging technologies in the UC space
