As Team Lead Electrical Engineering & Grid Germany, you will be accountable for leading the Electrical Engineering Team and for all electrical aspects of onshore wind, solar projects and hybrid-projects including transfer-/substation and grid connection with strong focus on optimization of the infrastructure design (eBoP design).
 

Your tasks

  • Building and disciplinary leading a team of electrical engineers and grid managers, delivering technical solutions from preliminary to execution design for our development and construction portfolio in Germany, considering optimized processes across the full project life cycle
  • Developing workflows and processes to ensure standardized quality of work for transfer- /substations, collection systems, transmission circuits, etc. for all projects
  • Managing the grid connection process and be the counterpart for grid operators.
  • Supporting all electrical engineering aspects in the regulatory and permitting process of all projects in close cooperation with our Origination- and Development teams
  • Developing grid strategies to enable the identification of suitable projects in origination and facilitating the smooth development and realization of the German project pipeline from the grid perspective
  • Selecting and managing external engineering consultants when needed to support projects and manage their activities to ensure consistent criteria, cost effective designs and timely delivery
  • Supporting and developing procurement strategies in close cooperation with Procurement and other Engineering teams by preparing engineering guidelines, specifications and project specific tender documents
  • Ensuring adequate reporting for effective resource management
  • Working in close cooperation with Chief Engineer Electrical & I&C and according communities of practice to shape methods and tools used for electrical design and grid application strategies
  • Ensuring the highest level of environmental, health and safety is incorporated in all design aspects of projects
  • Managing, mentoring, and motivating the team to create and promote a lean and cost-efficient culture that strives for best-in-class performance in safety, availability and costs
     

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree in electrical engineering
  • Several years of profound, proven professional experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects in the German market and good understanding of the German grid system
  • Knowledge of power system analysis software like PowerFactory
  • Strong commercial acumen/understanding of complex technological and commercial correlations and ability-to analyze, understand and solve complex technical issues
  • Experience as engineering coordinator or team lead is beneficial
  • Strong leadership and communication skills in an international and complex environment with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong HSE commitment
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel on a regular basis
  • Fluency in German and English is mandatory
