In 2017 the new department Infrastructure & Provider Management (IPM) was created as one of three RWE IT pillars (Supply & Trading, Generation and Infrastructure). RWE Infrastructure provides infrastructure and commodity solutions to all parts of RWE, it includes five sub-functions: Connectivity & Unified Communications, IT Security, Datacentre and Cloud, EUC and Customer & IT Service Management.


Team Lead Connectivity and Network Peripherals is responsible for:

  • Leading an international team of Connectivity and Network Security Solution experts
  • Development of the strategic direction of Connectivity and Network Peripherals services within RWE Infrastructure and Provider Management (Service lifecycle, strategy, guidelines, policies and standards)
  • Connectivity and Network Peripherals service delivery following agreed SLA’s
  • Management of IT staff involved in Connectivity and Network Peripherals services delivery
  • Management of services following the established ITIL processes within RWE IPM
  • Implementation and execution of security policies
  • Definition and further development of Connectivity and Network Peripherals services to meet business requirements
  • Demand management and service ownership
  • Definition and further development of guidelines for Connectivity and Network Peripherals services
  • Controlling (planning, forecast, actual) of agreed budget and measurement of goal achievement
  • Monitoring of Connectivity and Network Peripherals services and reporting including external service providers
  • Benchmarking and determination of the Connectivity and Network Peripherals services charge rates with market


Your powerful skills


  • 7+ Years Connectivity and Communication services in a large complex organisation
  • Excellent knowledge in Operation of network and network security solutions using actual components for WAN/LAN, Datacentre LAN (including balancing technologies), Wireless LAN, internet, 3rd party connections and network perimeter protection
  • Good knowledge of Unified Communication service delivery including Telephony, Collaboration Solutions, Video Conferencing and Webcasting (especially in depth knowledge on ITIL Service Management Processes)
  • Good Knowledge of directory services (MS active directory / LDAP)
  • Good understanding of the energy generation and / or energy trading industry and required IT infrastructure
  • Lead & manage change, thinking creatively "outside the box" to deliver innovative and cost effective strategies and roadmaps that work end-to-end and can be adapted as required 
  • Able to influence and work effectively in multiple cultures and at a range of levels
  • Experience of managing various and conflicting business demands 
  • Prepare, manage and control budgets adhering to IT Controlling processes and standards

  • Experience in working International multi-disciplinary and multi-site development teams
  • Good leadership and communication skills at all management levels to drive change

  • Good interpersonal skills including cultural and ethical awareness
  • Experience in managing 3rd party providers (including managed service)
  • Business fluent in English and German and willingness to travel

Advantageous, but not a must

  • Ideally relationship management experience from an IT and business perspective
