Senior Technical Project Developer Hydrogen m/f/t

Hydrogen is considered a beacon of hope to decarbonise various hard-to-abate sectors and hence could play a crucial role in the energy transition. RWE is working at full speed on various green hydrogen projects across the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK, together with our partners in business, industry, research and governments. 
We have built a new Hydrogen team, with this post reporting into the Head of Hydrogen Technical.

 

  • Be responsible to lead the technical activities along the project lifecycle, starting from the initial idea, through opportunity and development phase to the final investment decision
  • Develop and describe the technical design of the hydrogen projects, optimize and integrate concepts and detail technical solutions for H2
  • Evaluate technical feasibility of the H2 asset projects and hold accountability for delivering the technical part of H2 asset projects within agreed boundaries 
  • Ensure preparation of project plans and adherence to it, including time schedule for the activities, resource demand, etc. to drive projects to final investment decision and handover to the execution phase
  • Orchestrate and oversee activities together with the engineering team
  • Provide input to business cases and Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimates and support preparation of contract strategy and procurement plan (technical, site and HSE specifications)
  • Challenge and optimize business cases, integrating inputs from various teams, including commercial, procurement, legal, permitting, regulatory, etc.
  • Prepare and steer joint decisions for the project SteerCos in accordance with applicable decision procedure
  • Participate in final negotiations for large engineering contracts for H2
  • Collaborate with suppliers and EPC providers to ensure successful project delivery


Your powerful skills

  • Degree in engineering, industrial engineering or natural science
  • Profound professional experience with at least 5 - 10 years of work experience in technical project development and management
  • Experience with the various permitting procedures (e. g. BImSchG/Federal Immission Control Act or applicable) and experience in EPC and/or multi-lot projects
  • Drive for improvement of hydrogen business results internationally
  • Show complex thinking abilities, incorporating both analytical and conceptual and have a strong detailed understanding of the hydrogen market
  • Build effective groups across national borders
  • Willingness to travel
  • Business fluent in German and English 

Advantageous, but not a must

  • Leadership experience on team level 
  • Experience in the hydrogen business and/or technical gases, oil & gas, chemical
  • Experience in international technical project management 
  • Other spoken languages than the above mentioned prearably dutch
