Senior Operational Technology Systems Specialist (m/f/d)

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Understanding the existing OT landscape of applications and support/troubleshooting procedures 
  • Conduct monitoring and access to 3rd party SQL Databases (covering DB administration)
  • Integrate new data sources into the existing application landscape supporting related functions 
  • Act as main contact for various Business customers to support their needs with regards to OT Realtime application and data topics; conduct incident management
  • Co-/Manage internal and external development and support teams; support knowledge transfer to 1st Level Support team)

 

Education and working Experience

  • University degree in computer science/information systems or comparable studies - preferable with specialization on automation
  • At least 5 years of experience in real-time data processing (e.g. process industry or utilities)
  • Experience in leading smaller teams of up to 5 employees

 

Technical Competencies

  • Several years’ experience working with SCADA system, real time data acquisition and Alarm & Event handling, ideally in the area of Renewables 
  • Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols like: OPC-DA, OPC-UA. IEC60870-5-104, Modbus etc.
  • Very good knowledge of relational database systems like MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL incl. writing queries for data analytics
  • Relevant Azure experience (Azure databases, Data lake Gen. 2, …)
  • Hands on experience in PowerShell scripting
  • Knowledge of ITIL4 principles and experience in implementing IT service organizations based on ITIL4
  • Profound IT knowledge (Operating systems, Network)

  • Demonstrate a proactive and problem-solving attitude (good analytical skills)
  • Customer and Service oriented attitude
  • Experience in people management along with organizational skills
  • Knowledge of escalation procedures, incident management, problem management, service requests management and other disciplines related to device ser-vice support
  • Highly motivated, reliable and able to work independent with minimal guidance
  • Ability to work in a multinational team including contractor and developers in different regions (Europe, Asia/Pacific)
  • Good English language skills (writing and talking), German is a plus
