Working for a start-up and a corporate group sounds like a contradiction? Not from our point of view. RWE is setting up a new in-house Consulting unit and therefore looking for new colleagues to team up with us and join us on this journey.


RWE’s in-house Consulting unit is part of the RWE AG holding company and supports the entire RWE Group with three service lines: Management Consulting, Lean Consulting and Change Consulting.


This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Consultant to work within our international leading energy house which is expanding not only in Europe but across the globe.


Our Management Consulting team provides advisory services to our clients in order to create value, maximize growth and improve business performance across all business units within RWE.


As Senior Management Consultant you will be the strategic driver for the design and implementation of solutions and approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs, and completion of client deliverables and activities. You have not only gained effective project management skills from successful projects or engagements. Even more, you truly understand the consulting profession and have a track record of client satisfaction. As such, you are motivated to build experience and develop long term relationships with clients across the Group. You should be a natural communicator who can gain consensus, be understandable and provide actionable suggestions to guide our business to be more functional, more successful, and to raise our standards across the company.

You will engage in job responsibilities such as the following:

  • Ownership and responsibility for individual work streams
  • Lead and manage those within the project team and guide more junior colleagues
  • Collaborate with management and clients to discuss goals & objectives
  • Interview and facilitate group discussions with management, client employees and other stakeholders
  • Devise and present strategies & recommendations for the management team
  • Identify and negotiate schedules, milestones, and resources required to meet the project objectives
  • Prepare concepts and recommendations for action
  • Monitor the long-term effects of business changes
  • Oversee projects to address issues and needs
  • Keep abreast of changes in the industry
  • Conduct any required training classes for employees at a variety of levels
  • Work tactfully to inspire faster adoption, greater utilization, and higher proficiency by employees regarding new ways of operating as a result of the consulting project outcomes

The successful candidate will work alongside our clients and management to create instrumental solutions for the business. Their primary values shall include objectivity, client satisfaction, entrepreneurship, integrity and professional fulfillment. Therefore we are looking for the following in our candidates:

  • Excellent completed university degree (any discipline). An MBA or any equivalent certification is a strong asset
  • Relevant work experience as Management Consultant
  • Detailed knowledge of industry trends and market behavior
  • Excellent project management & presentation skills
  • Aptitude for analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking as well as creative and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong people skills and the ability to engage all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent listening, verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel (Mondays to Thursdays)
  • Fluent in English and German
