The Energy Transition & Regulatory Affairs department of RWE AG is the Group's think tank, that aims at analytically anticipating the transformation of the energy system in the dimensions of energy markets, technologies and regulation. Opportunities and challenges for the Group are identified at an early stage, recommendations and regulatory Group positions are developed and concrete business opportunities are implemented. The Energy System Analytics team is primarily responsible for analyses of questions on energy economics, for identifying and monitoring relevant technologies, and for cooperative ventures with external industry partners to decarbonise the industry.

  • Independent execution of comprehensive strategic analyses of business models and markets related to the energy transition
  • Active monitoring of national and international developments in the energy industry and evaluation of opportunities and risks of new business models for RWE
  • Deriving cooperation ideas with the industry / with external partners, as well as independently initiating and implementing these with the partners
  • Management of group-wide energy industry projects and workstreams 
  • Transferring complex content and analysis results into target group-oriented presentations and preparing well-founded recommendations for action for decision-makers in RWE top management (including the Executive Board)

Your powerful skills

  • University degree in an economics, engineering or natural sciences program 
  • At least 5 years of experience in the energy industry and/or a strategy consultancy with in-depth knowledge of various stages of the energy industry value chain
  • Experience in project management with (external) partners and with different stakeholders
  • Ability to reduce very complex issues to the decisive elements and present solutions in such a way that decision-makers can take them up directly
  • Business fluent in written and spoken English 
  • Strong creativity and ability to develop out-of-the-box solutions

Advantageous, but not a must

  • Experience in commercial project evaluation / commercial analysis
