Shape strategic data utilization and think ahead how data will be used in future to foster the growth story of renewables energy. Come and join our Strategy and Architecture Team and support us in a companywide data architecture. 

As Senior Data Architect you will take responsibility for our data- strategy, -architecture and -governance framework. You will be the force and driver of our enterprise solutions in relation to data, designing new concepts and enhancements according to business/market changes. 

Together with our highly motivated team, get exposed globally to all areas of the company and help our experts to further develop their processes. 

Your Responsibilities:

• You lead data architecture for the renewables IT/OT  landscape.
• Develop a reference architecture and guidance on industry-accepted data architecture principles and standards for the renewables business like e.g. Data Platform, Data Mesh, …
• As subject matter expert on the team, maintain understanding of current technology, future trends and innovative methods through ongoing education, cross-industry networking and conference attendance.
• You collaborate and co-ordinate with multiple departments, stakeholders, partners, and external vendors on data architectures including close co-operation with required internal teams, e.g. solution/data engineers and data operators.
• You ensure that our data architecture is state-of-the-art and able to serve diverse requirements from our business including future aspects like data science, AI and machine learning.
• You make recommendations for leveraging cloud/on-premises data costs with optimal solution design.
• Identify shortcomings in existing business data practices, suggest and implement improvements.
• You understand established data management and reporting technologies, and have knowledge of columnar and NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, data visualization, and unstructured data.
• You promote data sharing by using re-usable services and building blocks in different initiatives combined with a service-oriented approach.
• You specify the data repository to store data element definitions and processing guidelines.

Your Profile: 

• A successfully completed university degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience working in a data (architect) role
• Excellent knowledge of data processes and data architecture including operational technologies like SCADA etc.
• Sound professional experience in the design, implementation, and documentation of data architectures and data platforms.
• Profound working knowledge of databases ,data lakes Processing tools (e.g., Databricks/HDInsight) and BI and Reporting tools (e.g., Tableau) or similar technologies 
• Good working knowledge in Cloud architectures and services in particular Microsoft Azure; Azure certification is an advantage
• Good understanding of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF/COBIT) and related tools like LeanIX
• Excellent analytical skills and a very quick grasp
• Independent way of working with high proactivity
• Excellent engagement skills and in particular steering the technical solution teams.
• Very good English skills, German is a plus, other languages are welcomed
