Your responsibilities
You are a qualified Compliance professional with experience in sanctions & export control, you are highly motivated to drive a Compliance Management System at a global energy company forward and are looking for the next step in your career? - You will develop, manage and improve an internal compliance program (ICP) for sanctions & export control, including the development and implementation of risk analyses, global policies, standards and best practices
- You will advise senior management and the export control community at RWE on complex transactions and processes regarding sanctions & export control issues
- You will design engaging training and communication activities on sanctions & export control topics for relevant target groups on group-wide level as well as design and execute relevant testing activities
- You will closely collaborate with the Compliance community and other functions such as Legal, Procurement, Finance, Tax, Security, Accounting etc. for harmonised governance and streamlined advice across the RWE Group
- You will continuously monitor the statutory and regulatory sanctions & export control framework developments, derive relevant strategic measures, actively sharing and implementing best practices for the refinement of respective processes
Your profile
- Profound knowledge of sanctions & export control law (eg. EU, UN, OFAC) and best practices, experience in the analysis of business processes and the design of compliance frameworks
- Relevant Compliance experience (> 8 years) at an industrial company, a bank, law firm or supervisory authority with at least 5 years of experience in sanctions & export control advisory
- Passionate about the challenges presented by complex, conflicting and rapidly changing legal regimes & the geopolitical aspects of sanctions
- Drive to proactively take a CMS to the next level, working effectively with cross-functional teams and coming up with creative and pragmatic solutions
- Team player with high level of integrity and reliability, the ability to proactively manage risks and exceptional communication skills in English and German
- University degree in economics, law, engineering or related discipline with an above-average result
Advantageous, but not a must
- You have an affinity for IT
- Experience in the assessment and classification of goods and technologies in accordance with international export control regulations (German export list, EU dual-use etc.)
