The Instrumentation and Control team drives the implementation, quality assurance and operational support for the SCADA systems of the high-voltage and substations as well as for the generation & storage assets (WTG, PV and Storage) of our onshore wind farms and PV plants. As Onshore Wind, PV and Storage Systems SCADA and Network Engineer you will be working in a project-oriented manner and take over technical responsibility during the development and construction phase of the projects as well as provide operational support during their subsequent operational phases, by performing engineering activities, remote configurations, site implementations and contractor steering.

 

Your tasks

  • Defining and preparing technical specifications
  • Checking the designs provided by contractors and suppliers
  • Designing system interfaces, developing and implementing them further
  • Carrying out the quality and acceptance tests of the contractors and ensure that they are carried out and documented according to the specifications (FAT and SAT)
  • Accompanying commissioning activities of the suppliers and checking their results
  • Coordinating, prioritizing, tracking and performing troubleshooting and maintenance of related systems with the operations teams
  • Reconciliating contractors who perform activities of design, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting on the relevant systems
  • Engaging inSCADA projects to optimize monitoring and control functions and data availability
  • Supporting the rest Instrumentation and Control team in resolution of issues that require network advanced technical capabilities.
  • You are an active member of an international team where knowledge, experience, achievements and lessons learned are continuously shared
  • Facilitating good collaboration and knowledge sharing with other teams in the renewable energy business units

 

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university studies or equivalent in a relevant technical or engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Relevant professional experience (3+ years) and experience with SCADA systems
  • Experience with control systems, automation, SCADA, PLCs, RTUs and IEDs
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (especially OPC family, Modbus, IEC-104 and MMS) and their network-specific behaviors
  • Experience in network design and/or administration and network components setup (Switches, Firewalls,…). Certification in networking is a plus.
  • Experience in SCADA systems in fields of high-voltage and substations, wind turbines and/or solar plants and their infrastructure is a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL server queries, experience in SQL server administration is a plus
  • Experience in Restful API for industrial data transfer is a plus
  • Experience in VMware ESXI and hardware installation and administration is a plus
  • Being suitable to work inside a Wind Turbine (trainings will be provided by the Employer) is a plus
  • Relevant Project Management skills as well as experience in working with contractors
  • Ability to communicate clear and concisely
  • Ability to conduct risk analysis and implement risk mitigation plans
  • Ability to multi-task as needed and schedule according to project priority
  • Experience or knowledge of cybersecurity requirements for critical infrastructure is a plus
  • Expected average travel during the working week expected 20%-30%
  • Driving license valid in EU/UK
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian. Other languages like Polish, Swedish, French, German or Spanish are a plus
