The team you will be joining: Our "Continental Power & CS Legal" team at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) advises on all legal issues relating to our company’s power trading and supply business in Germany and Continental Europe. We are based in Essen, but due to our international orientation and our open corporate culture we can also offer you a good portion of internationality. We do not deal with everyday standard inquiries, but are constantly confronted with exciting and challenging topics from our commercial colleagues. We strive to help make the energy transition happen and shaping RWEST to be fit for the future!

How can you personally support us in our “mission”: 

• You will provide our sales business with robust and pragmatic advice on all questions regarding German and European energy law (EnWG, EEG) and distribution law 
• You advise various stakeholders on German and continental European legal matters relating to the commercial electricity business and on the relevant products and (system) services
• As part of a dedicated team you are actively drafting, assessing and negotiating all kind of legal documentation; you develop new contractual approaches and solutions in order to make your own contribution to the energy transition
• You will actively support commercial traders, sales and other support functions
• Lively contribution to our Future@MFJ-N initiative to further develop ideas and concepts for standardisation, digitalisation and modern effective ways to work 

Your powerful skills 

• You are a German fully qualified lawyer and have above-average exams
• Commercial topics do not scare you, you enjoy understanding complex issues and cooperating closely with commercial and other support functions
• Finding suitable solutions to challenging questions and satisfying demanding clients is part of an exciting task for you
• You are open to new perspectives and enjoy actively helping to implement them; you may not be a digital native but you are keen to engage in the digitalisation of legal work @RWEST!
• Teamwork is just as important to you as it is to us
• You feel comfortable in an open-minded, relaxed yet dynamic team, but you are also confident enough to manage your tasks independently in a work environment using hybrid working, excellent organisation and time management skills
• You have excellent communication skills in German and English, both orally and in writing 

Advantageous, but not a must

• Knowledge of the RWE Group and the business of RWEST
• Several years of work experience in the energy sector
