Cloud and Data Centre are part of IT Infra – who provide infrastructure services to the RWE Group of companies. RWE has a Cloud First and Multi Cloud strategy – C&DC support both AWS and Azure Landing zones as well as traditional “on-premise” data centres, providing 24x7 platform services and cross functional services, specifically for Compute, database storage and other infra services, along with its Managed Service Provider partners.
Your future plans
-
This role will act as Product Owner for Azure platform (excluding cross-functional topics such as Compute, Database, Storage), reporting to the functional lead for Platforms (including Azure, AWS and data-centre).

Maintenance & support of RWE's Cloud and Data Centre (C&DC) technologies in conjunction with our internal team, Cloud Service Providers (CSP) and Managed Service Providers (MSP).

Develop, build, configure, integrate & unit test solutions for RWE's C&DC Platform / Services based on the functional & technical specifications

Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies in RWE's C&DC Platforms / Services

Communicate and define RWE IT technology requirements and standards to the MSP teams and ensure adherence as well as to provide technical leadership to the teams
-
Define and maintain the C&DC Operations managed service work packages ensuring RWE IT requirements are correctly translated into MSP deliverables
-
Measure the C&DC Operations managed service delivery against the agreed KPIs
-
Represent RWE IT at Change Advisory Boards as required with a focus on C&DC Services

Play an active and/or coordinating role in Problem, Incident and Change activities. This includes:

Actively managing related incidents in Service Now (RWE’s ITSM tool)
-
Actively managing incidents raised with Service Providers (CSP and/or MSP)
-
Understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
-
Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems in RWE's C&DC Platforms / Services
-
Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing in RWE's C&DC Platforms / Services

Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes
Your powerful skills

In depth knowledge of one or more of the following technologies, will be a focus of this role:

AWS Platform &/or Services

Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code environments & tooling such as (but not limited to):

Ansible, Cloud Formation, Terraform HCL, Packer with HCL, Azure DevOps suite, including Repos & Pipelines, Python for Lambda, HCL, JSON, YAML

Experience of managing various and conflicting technical and business demands
-
Able to assess impact and communicate to managed service, infrastructure and application teams
-
Self-reliant and able to work to own initiatives
-
Ability to work under pressure – patient, tolerant and resilient
-
Fluency in spoken and written English, including technical and business terms
-
Cultural awareness and willingness to travel (largely between UK and Germany)
Advantageous, but not a must

Knowledge of ITIL processes / model and of the DevOps model
-
Knowledge of End-to-end application operations processes
-
Knowledge of Asset and Configuration Management and Incident and Problem Management
-
Broad knowledge and understanding of IT security concepts and methodologies
-
Broad knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewalling.

Broad understanding of the RWE's business and the strategic drivers which influence the C&DC environment requirements.
