Become part of the RWE Renewables team and drive our onshore wind and PV projects in Germany as Stakeholder Manager for Grid Issues and help us shape the future of renewable energy. 
The Project Engineering Germany department provides technical support and technical expertise in the development, construction and operation of our wind farms in the fields of Resource Assessment, Site Suitability, Civil and Electrical Engineering.

 

Your activities in the Electrical Engineering department

  • You are the contact person for all general technical grid issues and support your team colleagues, our project developers, our construction teams and our operations teams in the optimal design of our grid connections
  • You regularly analyse and optimise our internal grid connection planning and grid connection request processes and adapt them to the requirements of the various grid operators
  • Together with our project developers, our operations teams and our strategy team, you will develop concepts and strategies for grid-optimised project development and the grid-optimised operation of wind and PV parks. 
  • You will support grid operators in all general technical, normative and organisational issues. To this end, you will meet regularly with the various grid operators and ensure that we know and fulfil the requirements of the various grid operators
  • You are familiar with the relevant standards and laws and are actively involved in committees and standardisation committees in order to bring in the perspective of system operators and adapt our internal processes at an early stage if necessary
  • Together with other internal departments, you will carry out analyses and studies on grid bottlenecks and similar topics or support external engineering offices and experts with such tasks
  • You will participate in cross-departmental project teams and regularly take on individual tasks in projects such as grid connection enquiries
     

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree in electrical engineering or industrial engineering specialising in electrical engineering
  • Relevant professional experience (at least 2 years) in the planning of power grids, in particular 20/30kV and 110 kV, wind and solar parks or similar infrastructure projects
  • Experience in working with grid operators, consultants and engineering firms
  • Experience in committee work, e.g. standardisation committees VDE, BDEW, FNN, etc.
  • Good knowledge of the application of relevant technical standards and guidelines, in particular VDE 41XX
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with people at different hierarchical levels
  • Ability to work in a team and interest in interdisciplinary tasks, combined with the ability to build sustainable working relationships in project teams across regions and functions
  • Project management skills and the ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks independently
  • Business fluent German and good English skills
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel on business, usually for one day
