The role

 

As the Global Category Manager IT/OT Infrastructure Services you will report directly into the Team Lead for IT Services, Infrastructure and Cloud. This exciting new opportunity within the refreshed IT/OT Procurement and Supplier Management team will give you the first hand opportunity to be a part of a global team and contribute to innovative projects across all of RWE’s businesses including Renewables, Energy Trading and much more.

 

 

Your future plans

 

As one of two Global Category Managers which is a senior position in this team, you will focus on Infrastructure and Cloud, including but not limited to Managed Workplace, Printing, Networks, Telecoms, Mobile, our Data Centres plus our Cloud Services and Partners.  Your key responsibility will be to take care and develop the overarching global Category Strategy for these areas, and as the subject matter expert guide the respective category managers and business areas. Additional responsibilities will compliment this, such as conducting complex and highly strategic RFx activities.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Being our subject matter expert and strategic thinker

    • You will have a deep understanding of global markets and relevant trends as well as emerging technologies and supply chain risks/opportunities for your respective categories

    • This will enable you to produce, own, communicate and bring to life, your global Category Strategy, taking advantage of all available internal expertise

    • As a key and senior representative of procurement, you will align procurement goals with business targets, and proficiently moderate our procurement processes to deliver the highest potential value-add

  • Procurement process management

    • In a  highly proficient manner, you will utilise the procurement processes  to delivery the best outcomes, such as taking over selected strategic RFx activities where relevant, working on automation initiatives or internal projects

  • Engaging with key internal & external stakeholders

    • You will build a solid and trusted network of relevant suppliers and potential suppliers

    • Even more importantly, you will build a comprehensive trust-based network of internal stakeholders across our business,  at levels and on an international basis

    • Based on your expertise, meeting IT/OT requirements will be second nature to you, in order to improve the overall outcomes for RWE

 

 

Your profile

 

  • University degree including several years of professional experience 

  • Expert in procurement strategy and practical knowledge of financial management principles

  • Deep relevant IT/OT supply market and industry knowledge of relevant categories

  • Negotiation skills, externally and internally across all levels of our cross functional hierarchy

  • Highly creative, articulate, attentive to detail and welcoming to new approaches or ideas

  • Willingness to travel to our operational/office sites and key suppliers

  • Excellent proficiency in English; German language skills beneficial but not essential
