  • be the single point of contact for all margin-related questions and explain those to stakeholders from operations and controlling departments
  • contribute to decision proposals for the boards of RWEP and RWEG and brief the respective commercial board member in advance
  • support the continuous improvement of our valuation methodologies, tools, processes and interfaces
    • work closely together with colleagues from the Controlling and Strategy departments at RWE Generation and RWE Power
  • maintain a close relationship with our sister departments in Commercial Asset Management and the asset-backed traders at RWE Supply & Trading’s Commercial Asset Optimisation division (MAT)

Your powerful skills

  • university degree in engineering, economics, business studies, finance, physics or mathematics
  • relevant professional experience or completion of a graduate program alternatively
  • strong interest in working at the interface between engineering and business management and in technical/economic optimisation issues
  • ability to think conceptually and strong analytical skills (excel); VBA, database or Tableau knowledge is an advantage
  • high motivation and stamina to independently drive change and full commitment to the tasks with a high sense of responsibility
  • capability of communicating in an audience-oriented way and of handling challenging conversations with both empathy and focus on content
  • team player open to share information, with a thirst for knowledge and a good sense of humour
  • fluency in English and German

Advantageous, but not a must

  • working experience in controlling, economic evaluation, asset or portfolio management
  • profound understanding of the economics of RWE’s generation portfolio and of the electricity market as well as a general understanding of the operational and technical concepts of power plants and fuel systems
  • a proven track record in project management
  • fluency in Dutch

Benefits you can rely on

  • work at the “commercial heart” of RWE – right next to Europe’s largest trading floor for power, fuels and CO2
  • get strategic and real-time insight in the development of the energy market in DE, NL and BE
  • challenge yourself with complex technical-commercial optimisation projects at a fascinating interface and have a commercial impact on RWEG’s and RWEP’s fleet of power stations
  • build a relationship with RWEG’s and RWEP’s power stations, controlling and strategy departments, as well as RWEST’s asset-backed traders and market analysts
  • become part of a highly motivated and diverse team environment
