Emissions & Clean Energy Analyst m/f/t

Your future plans

Within RWE Supply & Trading GmBH's Commercial Analysis and Global Strategies department the Emissions & Clean Energies Team is responsible for price and cost forecast of carbon emissions as well as renewable and clean energies covering both long-term and traded tenor. Our expertise also covers environmental regulation and respective targets relating to emissions, renewable energies, hydrogen and other products, f.e Guarantees of Origin. The role of the Energy Analyst covers the detailed analysis of renewable technologies and CO2 emission schemes in all core and future markets of RWE and to transfer the analysis to our stakeholders across the Group.

 

  • Collect, prepare and analyse all relevant data needed as input for our analysis on the development of renewable energies and emission trading systems 
  • Understand and evaluate the changes in the regulatory framework as well as within subsidy schemes relating to the growth of renewable energies, carbon contracts for difference as well as hydrogen
  • Support the team to develop and run models & databases to perform quantitative analysis. Visualize and communicate key insights
  • Prepare ad hoc market analysis reports on new events and developments
  • Motivation to consistently scan the market for regulatory changes affecting the area of current and future operations
  • Close cooperation with the trading desks as well as the strategic and commercial analysis teams within the RWE Group to support business activities and define future strategies

 

Your powerful skills

  • University degree in an analytical / numerical subject, preferably Engineering, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics
  • Previous experience of working within an energy commodity environment, preferably with a high affinity for renewable energy sources 
  • Good knowledge in energy economics and demonstrable experience in quantitative and qualitative market modelling and analyses 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to transfer knowledge between analysis and decision makers in other departments with an interdisciplinary approach both in German and English
  • High level of self-motivation, creativity and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a competitive environment and to meet tight deadlines
