Your Impact
As a key member of the Embedded IT team, you will bridge the gap between complex data engineering, AI innovation, and real-time trading strategy. Your role involves:
Collaborative Solution Design
- Partner directly with Traders and Analysts to capture, define, and implement high-impact use cases.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of requirements, from initial clarification to robust testing and deployment.
- Drive Collective Intelligence as part of a high-performing, cross-location team, where constant knowledge sharing and technical exchange are at the core of how we work.
Data Ecosystem & AI Integration
- Expert Support: Act as the technical specialist for our modern Market Data Platform, leveraging Databricks, Dremio, and Tableau on AWS.
- Data Integration: Lead the onboarding of new datasets, ensuring our desks have rapid access to market-critical information.
- AI Acceleration: Identify and implement AI/ML solutions to automate data validation, enhance data quality, and accelerate processing workflows.
- Automation: Architect and implement automated workflows for internal and external trading models.
Strategic Innovation
- Systems Optimization: Take a holistic view of our data infrastructure to drive improvements in efficiency, reliability, and speed.
- Technical Growth: Stay at the forefront of the industry by mastering the latest cloud and AI capabilities.
- Future-Proofing: Proactively scout market developments to suggest and implement next-generation tools—leveraging AI to further enhance our trading capabilities.
Your Profile
We are looking for a senior-level engineer who thrives at the intersection of data architecture and business value. You should bring:
Technical Mastery
- Engineering Excellence: Extensive professional experience with Python and Spark, backed by a deep understanding of SQL for complex data modeling.
- Frontend Versatility: Proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript framework (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue) to help bring data to life through intuitive interfaces.
- Cloud Architecture: A strong background in data storage and cloud infrastructure, with the ability to design systems that prioritize performance and scalability.
- Domain Expertise: Proven experience working with time-series and forecast data. While experience in Energy Trading is a major plus, your ability to handle complex datasets is what matters most.
Mindset & Approach
- The Consultant’s Edge: A track record of working directly with end-users to deconstruct complex problem statements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Growth & Mentorship: A strong growth mindset. While you are a senior, you are eager to master Databricks, Dremio, and Tableau and enjoy sharing your knowledge with the team.
- Agile Native: Natural fluency in Agile methodologies, with a focus on continuous delivery.
- Educational Foundation: A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field—or equivalent deep-level professional experience.
The "Major Plus" List
- Infrastructure & DevOps: Building solutions on AWS, managing environments via Azure DevOps, and utilizing Terraform and Docker.
- Modern Backend Tooling: Experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and a rigorous approach to testing with PyTest.
- Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with Energy Markets or industry-specific tools like Plexos.
