Commodity Solutions (CS) delivers best-in-class, innovative products and services to RWEST‘s customers, being large industrial energy offtakers and third party (renewables) producers. The CRM manages and coordinates the customer relationship at all levels and is responsible for identifying, developing and negotiating the full range of standard commodity sales up to bespoke, complex origination transactions including green PPAs and other sustainability solutions, where applicable in collaboration with other teams of RWEST, RES or other RWE companies and/or external specialist companies.


In your role as CRM you:

  • Independently manage the existing customer base and acquire new customer relations in our Benelux target markets, in particular Netherlands.
  • Are confident in building strong relationships with customers and creating trust at organisational levels beyond the energy purchase, finance and utility departments, including establishing key contacts to executives and sustainability managersRecognize customer needs as well as new trends in market, especially with regard to green energy, sustainability, digitisation and other relevant innovations cycles. Drive energy transition and sustainability topics within our client base
  • Are a holistic energy manager, covering physical (green) power and gas supply concepts up to complex origination opportunities and are able to market products and services offered by other RWEST departments, market positions of RES (PPAs) and other RWE companies
  • Contribute to the overall profitability and performance of the CS respectively RWE business by demonstrating a deep understanding of standard and bespoke energy transaction, according opportunities and risks, embedded in a deep understanding of energy economics in general
  • Effectively manage product development in collaboration with other CS departments, e.g. with the Commodity Flow Desk for standard hedging products, with the Business Development team for complex transactions, and with other RWEST departments like Commercial Asset Optimisation. Further collaboration with RWE Renewables for marketing their positions via green offtake solutions and the according PPA-linkage to customers are key as well the cooperation with RWE Generation in particular for Hydrogen.
  • Monitor after sales services
  • Conduct customer site visits and attend the relevant industry events and conferences on a regular basis
  • Contribute to the organisation of Commodity Solutions’ own customer event from time to time


Your profile:

  • A university degree in economics, business administration/sales/marketing or technical university degree
  • Several years of experience in energy commodities, preferably in the fields of sales, trading, consulting or origination within the European energy markets with special focus on Netherlands
  • Detailed and profound knowledge of commodity products such as power, gas and green energy products including expertise in the applicable regulatory frameworks in the European Energy markets with special focus on Germany
  • Confident and enthusiastic appearance combined with exceptional negotiation, presentation and listening skills with credibility and business maturity necessary to give high-quality input to the customer
  • Ability to position yourself with clear recommendations, having weighed the chances and risks carefully before taking decisions, as well as ability to win the trust of executive level customers in challenging and changing circumstances
  • Proactive, commercially driven, results oriented individual
  • Experience of working in a fast moving environment including skills such as working under urgent customer requests, focusing on main topics and delivering high quality on time
  • Team working and team building skills, both internally as well as externally
  • Structured way of working, and able to work remotely
  • Excellent communication skills with business fluency in Dutch (mother tongue), English and preferably German, French would be an advantage as well
  • Willingness to travel
  • Other experience, e.g. in the new digital online energy world or in the development of energy infrastructure projects would be an advantage as well
  • Work experience abroad would be an advantage
