Commodity Solutions at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) manages customer coverage, origination, and sales across Europe, serving large industrials and municipalities. Join the Business Development Europe Team: In Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, we supply large customers with green power, gas, and energy solutions. We're also expanding sales trading in the APAC region and are seeking to grow the Commodity Flow Desk Global (CFDG), which provides wholesale market access and acts as a hub for cross-commodity trading.

 

We are now seeking a commercially driven team member to help expand CFDG’s activities through market, customer, and data analysis. Your mission is to understand customer needs across regions, support geographic growth, and broaden our product offering. You’ll turn insights into commercially viable deals alongside the CFDG team.

 

About the role

  • Securing market share and positioning the CFDG as the leading Sales Trading desk.
  • Implementation of market and competitor analyses specifically for sales trading.
  • Analysing changes in the economy, preparing forecasts for future market developments and getting involved with product development such as greening-up the classic sales trading activities to grow in existing and new sales markets.
  • Scrutinising the market for software solutions and adapt them to foster further growth. Your focus is to develop and organise the IT infrastructure strategy for the CFDG considering AI use, process automation and digital customer Solutions.
  • Monitoring and understanding the regulatory environment specifically for our sales trading business in our target countries (IT, FR, JP, HK, SGP, MY).
  • Creating business plans for scalable products and expanding the scalable product suite.
  • Further developing continuous reporting (e. g. KPI monitoring, big data analyses).
  • Supporting the internal stakeholder management in Europe and Singapore.
  • Developing new sales materials in cooperation with the marketing department.

 

Job requirements and experience

  • Degree in a relevant (quantitative) discipline (e. g. business administration, economics, engineering, business informatics, information Technology).
  • At least 3 years of experience in energy commodities / renewable energy, preferably in the field of Business Development, Commodity Trading, Sales or Origination within the European energy markets.
  • Profound knowledge of commodities, in particular power and gas, with expertise and interest in applicable regulatory frameworks of European energy markets.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual and commercial skills combined with the ability to turn ideas into successful trading products and business concepts.
  • Proactive team player and good networker with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent skills in English and German are essential.

Advantageous, but not essential
