Drive complex energy transactions in European markets and join RWE Supply & Trading’s (RWEST) Sales Structuring & Origination team to help grow RWEST’s sales business. You’ll develop bespoke commercial solutions for customers by leveraging one of Europe’s largest renewable generation and energy trading platforms. 

You’ll structure and drive complex opportunities with customers across German and European energy markets, such as power purchase agreements, battery tolling and other energy and flexibility solutions. Your commercial focus will depend on business needs and your experience. Working with Key Account Managers, customers and specialists across RWE, you’ll draw on our asset and commodity portfolios to structure solutions that create commercial value while managing risk. You will take ownership of opportunities from initial lead through to contract execution and help develop the team’s offering in response to market and customer needs. 

We are looking for commercially minded individuals who combine entrepreneurial thinking with the discipline required to manage complex risks and stakeholder environments. The ideal candidate enjoys turning ambiguity into executable transactions and is motivated by creating tangible business impact. 

About the role

• Structure and drive complex commercial transactions, including PPAs, battery tolling agreements and flexibility solutions.
• Lead structured sales processes and take ownership of opportunities from the initial lead through to contract execution.
• Actively collaborate with Business Development and Sales on processes and opportunities.  
• Coordinate internal stakeholders and steer required approvals and processes.  
• Further develop and scale RWE’s offering for complex energy and flexibility transactions based on market and customer feedback. 

Job requirements and experience

• At least five years of relevant experience in European energy markets, such as in origination, structuring, trading, renewables, sales or a comparable field.
• Proven ability to independently structure and drive complex commercial transactions.
• A strong understanding of European power, renewable energy or flexibility markets and experience with PPAs, battery tolling or flexibility agreements.
• Strong commercial judgement combined with sound analytical and contractual capabilities.
• Confident stakeholder management and the ability to effectively lead internal and external parties.  
• An entrepreneurial, results-oriented and pragmatic approach with a high degree of personal ownership.
• Business-fluent German and English.
• Ability to effectively leverage digital and AI-enabled tools while applying sound commercial judgement, professional responsibility and appropriate governance standards. 

Advantageous, but not essential

• Dutch language skills.
