In 2017 the new department Infrastructure & Provider Management (IPM) was created as one of three RWE IT pillars (Supply & Trading, Generation and Infrastructure). RWE Infrastructure provides infrastructure and commodity solutions to all parts of RWE, it includes five sub-functions: Connectivity & Unified Communications, IT Security, Datacentre and Cloud, EUC and Customer & IT Service Management.


Independent working Service Analyst Connectivity and Network Peripherals with the following tasks:

  • Design, implementation, development and operation of connectivity (network) and network peripheral (firewall infrastructure) solutions, IP services (external DNS, load balancing), RAS (Site2Site VPN, Client VPN, SSL VPN Portal) or / and infrastructure management services within RWE IT infrastructure 
  • Designing, establishing and development of service lifecycles, guidelines, policies, standards and ITIL processes to support above mentioned services and solutions
  • Implementation and execution of security policies
  • Demand management and service ownership
  • Proactive working within the team to define and develop connectivity and network peripheral services in projects and daily business
  • Maintain, operate and support the existing international connectivity and network peripheral infrastructure, services and corresponding tools
  • Being responsible for definition, implementation and further development of the infrastructure as well as technical migrations, service delivery and documentation in RWE
  • Provide assistance, guidance and support in 2nd and 3rd Level for all Connectivity and Network peripherals services
  • Assistance with evaluation, selection and steering of suppliers Connectivity and Network peripherals solutions during transition, transformation and contract runtime


Your powerful skills


  • 7+ years Connectivity and Communication services in a large complex organisation
  • Excellent knowledge in Operation of network (Routing, Switching) and network security (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto) solutions using actual components for WAN/LAN (Cisco), Datacentre LAN ((Cisco) including load balancing (Citrix, F5) technologies), Wireless LAN (Cisco), internet (McAfee, Zscaler), 3rd party connections and network perimeter protection
  • Good Knowledge of directory services (MS active directory / LDAP)
  • Good understanding of the energy generation and / or energy trading industry and required IT infrastructure
  • Good knowledge in scripting languages (such as python)
  • Thinking creatively "outside the box" to deliver innovative and cost effective strategies and roadmaps that work end-to-end and can be adapted as required
  • Able to influence and work effectively in multiple cultures and at a range of levels
  • Experience of managing various and conflicting business demands 
  • Prepare, manage and control budgets adhering to IT Controlling processes and standards

  • Experience in managing 3rd party providers (including managed service)
  • Business fluent in English and German and willingness to travel

Advantageous, but not a must

  • Ideally relationship management experience from an IT and business perspective
