The Accounting division of RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) deals with the accounting of commodity issues in the context of RWE's global trading business, as well as the segment financial statements of RWEST.

 

Our department CAO & Settlement is the central commodity accounting service provider for the RWE Group’s conventional and renewable assets together with RWEST’s Commercial Asset Optimisation (CAO) department. In addition we process and settle all commodity related invoices globally on behalf of the RWE Group.
 
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated (Senior) Commodity Accountant to join our team. In this role you will play a crucial role in delivering commodity accounting services to the RWE Group’s conventional and renewable assets.

 

  • Work closely with the Commodity Accounting Team Lead to deliver all CAO CE commodity accounting activities including, but not limited to, m2m accounting, non-operating result postings and cash out process
  • Collaborate closely with RWESTs Accounting Principles department to evaluate new business transactions
  • Maintain a close relationship with RWESTs Controlling team in order to explain CAO CE financials and ensure the RWEST Finance Report entries are correctly stated and understood
  • Key customer interface to all other OpCos within RWE Group for commodity accounting services
  • In conjunction with the team lead drive the transformation and integration of accounting services for the renewable and conventional segment of the RWE group
  • Close collaboration with auditors for all RWE group CE commodity accounting queries
  • Support group wide projects within the CAO area
  • Improve processes and procedures to meet all reporting requirements in an efficient and effective manner

 

Your powerful skills

  • Hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or similar qualification
  • Several years of experience in accounting 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience of working with complex data
  • Good understanding of the energy business and energy trading
  • In-depth understanding of IFRS and German-GAAP
  • Sound knowledge on how commodity markets and how powerplants/ renewable assets work commercially.
  • Experienced in using SAP FI and Microsoft Excel
  • Quick in understanding business drivers and needs in relation to accounting strategies and policies
  • Independent, structured, solution-oriented, and analytical way of working
  • Fluent in German and English

Advantageous, but not a must

  • SAP S4/HANA experience
  • Good user knowledge of MS Access, Microsoft PowerPoint and SQL
  • Further skills in the field of data analysis
  • Experience with internal projects to improve processes and data quality
