The Asset Partner & Optimisation Conventional department in the Commercial Asset Optimisation division is the “central hub” connecting our internal trading desks and the energy markets with the generation assets. Within this department, the Asset Specific Systems team manages regulatory processes regarding publication of inside information, data exchange with the transmission system operator and steering the business requirements to enhance the IT landscape while supporting our users across the RWE group.

By doing this, we create value for RWE and ensure smooth processes, working collaboratively with our stakeholders as an appreciated and consulted partner. 

About the role

• Building and maintaining the quality of our data, reporting and analytic platform.
• Providing business support and consultancy for our IT landscape for our group wide user base.
• Engaging cross-departmental IT-projects focused on business process improvements.
• Enhancing and maintaining the system-landscape of the Asset Partners department, consisting of several tools, databases and also excel-based solutions.
• Driving improvements in the commercial processes and KPI systems across Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.
• Supporting the integration of existing and new assets into the commercialisation systems of RWE Supply & Trading GmbH.

Job requirements and experience

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g. economics, business studies, engineering, finance, physics or mathematics).
• Strong interest in the economics of RWE’s portfolio and of the energy market.
• Ambition to work in the center of the commercial optimisation of our assets, always looking for improvements and opportunities.
• No fear of complex IT-systems and databases and the willingness to dive into data and models to find optimisation potential or root causes of problems and solve them.
• Experienced in Python and SQL.
• High motivation to drive change with a full commitment to the tasks, a high sense of responsibility and without prematurely giving in – but also a team player, who is open to share information, with a thirst for knowledge and a good sense of humor.
• Fluent in German and advanced in English, with strong communication skills in both languages.

Advantageous, but not essential

• Completion of a graduate program.
• Knowhow in Tableau.
