About the role

At RWE Supply & Trading, we’re helping to shape a climate‑neutral future by bringing trust, pace and precision to every decision. Our Financial Statements team plays a key role in that mission. A core element of our work is ensuring that the balances and P&L impacts resulting from Share service center managed processes are accurate, complete, and fully reliable.

You’ll join an international environment where close collaboration with our Shared Service Centre and multiple RWEST entities is essential to safeguarding the integrity of our numbers. This role provides an excellent foundation for those looking to progress into financial reporting or controlling. It offers strong visibility, cross‑functional interaction and hands‑on involvement in process improvement — with real scope to help standardise, automate and reduce manual effort as we continue to optimise how we work.

  • Coordinate and follow up with the Shared Service Centre on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable invoice posting to ensure timely, accurate processing
  • Monitor and reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, supporting month-end closing activities
  • Support accruals, journal entries, and other general ledger activities as required
  • Collaborate with group entities to resolve discrepancies, outstanding items, and disputed transactions. Prepare, review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations for assigned General Ledger accounts, including accruals and journal entries
  • Perform variance analysis to identify unusual trends, errors or risks and share actionable insights
  • Support internal and external audits with schedules, explanations and documentation
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects that improve overhead postings and streamline workflows through standardisation and automation

Job requirements and experience

  • Strong knowledge of core accounting across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and Intercompany
  • Strong Excel skills with an analytical, data-driven approach; high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, multinational environment with clear, confident communication and collaboration
  • Ownership mindset with the drive to move from plan to delivery and improve processes end to end
  • Persistence and resilience when navigating inefficiencies, with a focus on standardising and reducing manual work
  • Team player who builds trust, seeks and provides feedback, and contributes to an inclusive, respectful culture
  • Fluent in English

Advantageous, but not essential

  • SAP experience
  • Experience working with a Shared Service Centre
  • German language skills

What we value most is someone who continuously demonstrates courage, thrives to create impact and seeks to build trusting, collaborative relationships. So, even if you think you do not yet display all of the skills listed above we would still like to hear from you.

Further we welcome applications from individuals who may not be able to commit to full-time roles. At RWEST, finding the right person for the job is our top priority, and we are willing to explore flexible arrangements.
