Pooling engineering competencies, driving innovative technical and digital solutions to design and deliver the most cost effective energy storage projects – this is the target of Global Battery Storage Engineering Team at RWE. RWE Renewables and its new subsidiary RWE Battery Solutions are setting up a global centre of competence in the field of energy storage engineering that will support the growth ambition of the entire RWE Group by ensuring energy storage projects of RWE and its customers are designed in the highest quality along the entire life cycle - from the development phase to operation. The global storage engineering hub will benefit from RWE worldwide office locations to attract top talents and support the global ambitions of RWE to become a leader in energy storage.

Position Overview
As Process Automation Engineer you will be at the heart of the Software and Controls Team. You will be dedicated to improve the efficiency of our working routines and software development processes through automation.  In this role you will have the opportunity to develop automation environments and tools for software testing, data handling, software releases and software deployment. Your critical thinking and your drive for efficiency will be key in identifying opportunities for task automation withing the team.

Your tasks:

• Identify needs for automation
• Drive the development of automated solutions
• Develop automated environments for data handling
• Automate processes for software release and deployment
• Support building up the automation platform for software testing
• Evaluate best tools and environments for process automation
• Create and maintain automation repository
• Promote the utilization of our collaboration tools: Jira and Confluence
• Support process mapping, documentation and optimization

Your profile:

• Successfully completed studies in Software Engineering, Automation Engineering or similar
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in process automation
• Excellent domain of Python or other programming language
• Experience with Git and Gitlab
• Good understanding of Software development processes
• Advanced utilization of Confluence and Jira
• Experience in Agile teams
• Highly motivated and self-driven as well as flexible and can-do attitude
• The following are a big plus but not a requirement:
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience with Business process mapping
