We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager / Production Manager Offshore Wind to lead the operations team for the OranjeWind offshore wind farm. This is an onshore based role ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our wind turbines, aligned with RWE strategic goals and industry standards. You will report directly to the General Manager of the wind farm and lead a team of approximately 20–25 professionals, ensuring operational excellence from day one.
RWE is currently constructing the OranjeWind offshore wind farm in the Netherlands, 85 kilometers off the coast of Den Helder with a capacity of 795 MW. Featuring the latest high-tech Vestas V236 15 MW turbines, OranjeWind will deliver first power in 2027. For the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) phase, we will deploy a Service Operation Vessel (SOV) to ensure efficient offshore logistics.
About the role

Develop and implement the new wind farm’s operational setup and ensure operational readiness from the start.

Recruit and develop your team, including technicians, promoting a culture of safety and performance.

Take full responsibility for offshore maintenance of foundations, cables, and electrical equipment, as well as vessel logistics and warehousing - including budget management.

Oversee maintenance planning, progress tracking, and work order execution.

Implement continuous improvement of operational strategies and define performance targets.

Coordinate with external service providers and support contract management.

Manage warehouse operations to guarantee optimal availability of spare parts, tools, and consumables.

Act as the key interface with the Central Control Room for wind farm monitoring.

Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards and promote a zero-incident culture.
Your primary base will be the O&M facility in Den Helder. Until the new office is completed (expected Q4 2026), you will work remotely and spend 1–2 days per week at RWE’s Utrecht office.
Job requirements and experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

10+ years of experience in operations management within the energy sector, ideally in wind energy.

Thorough knowledge of maintenance processes, logistics, and HSE standards.

Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and deliver results in challenging situations.

High focus on safety.
-
Ability to work in a challenging offshore environment and make decisions under tight deadlines.

Proficient leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
-
Willingness to incidentally travel offshore.

A security screening may be part of the procedure.
