Role would be covering multiple sites, ideal home Locations would be Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Derby , Nottingham

 

 

The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Site Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of our solar and battery energy storage facilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of solar and battery systems, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient integration of new sites in to the existing operational team and the ongoing reliable operation of our renewable energy assets.

 

Responsibilities

  • Overall management of Electrical installation for electrical and network compliance.

  • Management of works schedule to meet asset uptime requirements
  • Managing teams of on site personnel (works scheduling, team rostering, KPI’s, safety & development)
  • Performance of the asset to maximise generation (Availability, Production, Energy targets)
  • Negotiation and management of 3rd party contract works on site
  • Forecast and project budget management – reporting and integration with Finance team
  • Enforce RWE safety and electrical policies for the safety and wellbeing of staff
  • Perform Quality and Safety Inspections/Audits.
  • Understanding of Contractual requirement > Direct and manage variations, estimate and approvals.
  • Actively engage in electrical and mechanical activities.
  • Represent RWE in the local community – interaction with land owners and local stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills
  • Communicate effectively with Business Executives, Project Managers and Main contractors.
  • Ability to Operate Effectively within a Team Environment

Occupational Health Environment & Quality (HSEQ)

  • Ensure that you understand and carry out activities in accordance with RWE Renewables Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures;
  • Operate in accordance with RWE Renewables approved policy and procedural requirements;
  • Conduct risk assessments in area of responsibility with assistance from RWE Renewables HSE subject matter expert (SME);
  • Generate, implement and audit against Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) in consultation with team closed out;
  • Promote a healthy work environment for all employees by not smoking in any company (or contractor) buildings or vehicles.

 

Requirements

  • Current Driver’s License
  • Electrical certification / Licence (Preferrable)
  • HV Electrical Certification / Experience (Preferrable)
  • OHS Certification
  • Construction Induction Card (Where applicable)
  • Technical Knowledge
  • HSE: Constant awareness, report risks and hazards → attend meetings; raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs); OHS tertiary qualification (preferred)
  • Ability to understand / operate and manage technical and business computer software packages.
  • Ability to read and understand Electrical & Mechanical schematics / drawings
  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic accounting principles and budget management
  • Electrical Isolation (LOTO) procedures.- LV & HV
  • Understanding of electrical standards and regulations
  • Industry & Business experience
  • Experience in running & managing utility energy assets and/or energy distribution assets
  • Experience in DNSP/NSP interactions (Preferable)
  • Experience in managing project budgets and aligning with future works
  • Appropriate level of commercial acumen commensurate with position, some knowledge of commercial contracts.
  • Pervious experience in utility solar or storage construction

 

People Skills & other

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in running and managing teams of personnel both locally and from a distance
  • Flexible working – nights, weekends, holidays as required
  • Medical / Fit for duty assessment required
