As a Category Manager in RWE’s Major Components team, you will support both category management and the operational purchasing activities for RWE’s offshore and onshore wind farms during the operating phase and optimise RWE’s supply chain measures throughout the sites’ life cycle.

Role Description:

  • Support RWE’s operational offshore and onshore wind projects
  • Management of the negotiation of Major Component contracts in a multidisciplinary and international team
  • Development, implementation, and management of purchasing strategies for Major Components contracts, with specific emphasis on the gearbox category - which includes supply and refurbishment strategies
  • Development and implementation of framework agreements for major components contracts
  • Ensure the right balance of European/global and regional framework agreements to provide comprehensive solutions to the fleet
  • Development and implementation of stakeholder management with colleagues from the operations department(s) and central teams including Engineering and Legal departments
  • Establish, maintain, and develop strategic commercial relationships with key suppliers

 

Your profile:

  • Relevant experience in procurement and/or supply chain management (experience with wind turbine generators is a beneficial attribute).
  • Experience in identifying and assessing commercial contractual risks and developing strategies for risk prevention or control
  • Completed studies in business, engineering, economics, or related fields. Additional legal qualifications advantageous
  • Ability to coordinate contract packages and stakeholders and to contribute within multidisciplinary teams
  • Intercultural understanding and experience in working with different cultures
  • Fluency in English, and knowledge of other languages (i.e. German, Swedish) advantageous
  • Experience with SAP is advantageous
  • Willingness to travel as well as the potential for temporary stays abroad to support international projects
