Our Procurement Supply Chain Strategy and Cost Analytics department within RWE Renewables is looking for a Student Assistant to join the team on a long-term basis. This opportunity is ideal for a bachelor’s student or a first-year master’s student who is eager to gain hands-on experience in procurement, sustainability, supply chain strategy and cost analytics within the renewable energy sector. You will work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to international projects and gain valuable insights into one of the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing industries.
About the role
- Support international Sustainability, Supply Chain Strategy and Cost Analytics projects across the renewables business.
- Conduct market research and help identify supply chain trends, supplier developments and industry insights.
- Assist with analyses of supply and demand dynamics within renewable energy infrastructure markets.
- Support procurement and category management activities through data gathering, reporting and presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different functions and countries to support project delivery.
- Contribute to administrative and operational tasks that help drive team objectives and priorities.
- Assist in preparing business cases, market overviews and strategic recommendations.
- Gain exposure to procurement processes, sustainability initiatives and supply chain strategy within a global organisation.
Job requirements and experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or in the first year of a Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Supply Chain Management, Science or a related field.
- Available to work approximately 50% alongside studies and interested in a longer-term commitment.
- Strong analytical skills with an interest in procurement, sustainability and supply chain strategy.
- Structured, proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within an international team.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in Power BI and/or other data visualization and analytics tools is a plus
- Previous experience from procurement, analysis, administration or student projects is beneficial but not required.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
