The Back Office US department at RWE Supply & Trading Americas (RWESTA) is responsible for numerous financial operations functions in the North American energy markets. We work closely with Front Office, Risk & Revenue Controlling, Corporate Finance & Treasury, Accounting, and Legal teams to provide comprehensive support throughout the lifecycle of a trade.
Currently we’re looking for a new Team Lead to manage one of our most exciting Back Office teams. Within the team we cover Cash Management, OTC Collateral, Clearing Operations for all exchange traded deals and ISOs, Standard Contracts invoicing, and Renewable Energy Credits (RECs). Our US Back Office main site is located in Chicago, with other offices located around the globe. The RWE headquarters are located in Essen, Germany. Due to the close collaboration with our other regional & global offices occasional business trips (domestic & international) are possible.

In your new role the key responsibilities will include:
- Lead a newly formed team of 4+ Analysts ranging from Junior to Senior in skill level
- Provide guidance to team members and help develop overall skillset
- Conduct regular 1-to-1’s and handle regular performance reviews
- Manage the processes for daily margin calls, valuation reviews, dispute handling, reconciliation, and settlements.
- Oversee invoicing and accruals of monthly Standard Contracts & RECs
- Correspond with FCM, CCP’s, Banks, Brokers and external counterparties
- Act as a primary Credit contact for all ISO’s and post collateral as needed
- Organize testing & collaborate with Technology teams to enhance applications as well as automate manual processes
- Build efficient processes that are scalable and ‘fit for future’
- Ensure timely & accurate invoicing of internal/external customers across various markets
- Collaborate with other leaders on various projects
Your Powerful Skills
Do you have a keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills?
Key requirements include:
- 7+ years relevant work experience
- Degree in Economic, Finance, Business Admin, or similar work experience
- Provide exceptional leadership skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Extremely well organized and able to work tight timeframes under pressure
- Passion for developing young talent to help those under you advance in their careers
- Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Advantageous, not a must
- Experience or familiarity with daily margin calls, cash & collateral management, or REC’s
- Basic knowledge of IT software such as PCI, ENDUR, and SAP
- Understanding of energy settlements and the deal lifecycle
- Relevant work experience in the clearing, cash management, or energy business
