Tax Equity Transactions Analyst

The Transaction Management group is responsible for supporting RWE by leveraging project level economics through tax equity financing. The Transaction Analyst will support the Transactions team in valuing, negotiating and executing tax equity financing and other forms of financing transactions for renewable energy projects. The Transactions team works closely with investors, third-party consultants, and internal business teams to efficiently execute financing transactions and support RWE's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate has experience in complex financing modeling in the renewable energy sector, a problem-solving mindset, can efficiently manage multiple priorities, and keeps the "big picture" of RWE's best interests in mind.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Serve as critical support in valuation modeling for tax equity transactions and other financing arrangements
  • Coordinate various workstreams necessary to successfully execute financing transactions, including diligence management
  • Work collaboratively across RWE business teams related to financial modeling and transaction execution
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both external and internal stakeholders
  • Communicate effectively with Transaction team colleagues, internal business teams, and external stakeholders
  • Prepare, or assist in the preparation of, internal and external presentation materials
  • Assist other parts of the finance team as required, including quality control reviews and gate process support
  • Recommend and lead process improvement initiatives
  • Assist on various internal ad hoc projects

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 2-3 years of experience overall in a role with emphasis on maintaining financial models and investment presentations (required)
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel formulas and model creation (required)
  • Knowledgeable of renewable energy project economics (specifically wind, solar or storage) and related incentive systems (preferred)
  • Experience modeling tax equity partnership flip structures or similar project finance modeling (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to apply creative thinking to solve complex, interrelated problems
  • Team player with the flexibility to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Effective communicator with strong written and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree (required) with background in business, finance, accounting, tax or an analytical/quantitative field preferred
