The RWE US Structured Finance team is responsible for negotiating and executing tax equity financing agreements and tax credit transfer transactions. The team works with investors, tax credit buyers, legal counsel, consultants, and internal stakeholders to efficiently execute financing transactions and support RWE’s strategic objectives.
The Structured Finance Associate is a core member of team and works on all aspects of a transaction including building financial models and financial analysis, working with external consultants to manage third-party deliverables, and working across RWE to manage information flow and diligence processes.
The ideal candidate has experience building financial models or experience in complex quantitative environments, a problem-solving mindset to efficiently manage multiple priorities, interest in the renewable energy industry, a team-first attitude, and excellent communication skills.
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsible for updating financial models for tax equity transactions and other financing arrangements with support from more senior members of the team. This includes working with various RWE business teams to obtain various model inputs and assumptions
- Manage investor diligence process by working collaboratively with RWE business teams and external consultants with support from more senior members of the team
- Assist in the preparation of various types of presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Provide finance support to other teams related to Structured Finance modeling and assumptions. This includes quality control reviews and other ad-hoc support
Job Requirements and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other analytical/quantitative field (required)
- Minimum 1 year in building, maintaining or utilizing complex financial models, ideally for energy or renewable energy projects
- Minimum 1 year working in a fast paced and challenging finance environment with increasing levels of responsibility
- Excellent Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel formulas
- Knowledgeable of renewable energy project economics and related incentive systems
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to apply creative thinking to solve complex, interrelated problems
- Strong business acumen and a sound understanding of business and finance concepts
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Responds well to direction, works well in a team environment, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
- This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWE Americas office and field locations.
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $71,000 - $103,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
