The Senior Associate, Credit will Assess and approve counterparty credit exposures, as well as governance and adherence to RWE Group’s credit policies and procedures. Prepare credit reports and negotiate credit terms in legal contracts. Assist in credit term contract negotiations. Be responsible for timely and proactively managing credit risks within the RWECE portfolio, covering activities within procurement, long term purchase power transactions, commodity trading and energy management services. Maintain close co-operation with FO on new initiatives in line with RWE strategy, balancing risk against reward and adequate mitigation of risk to reduce credit losses.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a portfolio of counterparties based in the Americas (US, Canada, and LATAM) across a broad spectrum of industries
  • Ensure appropriate negotiating of credit terms for the business being undertaken, with a sound working knowledge of different contracts e.g. ISDA , PPA’s, EEIs,and procurement contracts
  • Prepare short, succinct credit analyses and reports including Risk/Reward decisions ensuring the quality of the report writing is if a high standard


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or economics required; advanced (i.e. Master’s) degree is a plus

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work in banking, utilities, or energy sector

  • Ability to provide analysis for corporate, utility and financial institutions from a credit risk, balance sheet and cash flow perspective

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships

  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space

  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams

  • Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • High level of social competence and ability to handle conflicts

  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds

  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
