At RWE Clean Energy (RWECE), the Manager, Development Controlling FP&A is responsible for financial performance controlling, planning & reporting and supporting target setting for the Onshore Wind, Solar, Energy Storage, Hydrogen, Data Center and Distributed Clean Energy businesses in the Americas region. This role will own the relationship with senior leaders supporting the rapid growth into new areas of business for RWECE. The Controlling Development team works closely with the business units driving the aggressive growth at RWECE; working as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, evaluating improvement measures, actively giving recommendations/appropriate challenges, and providing business decision support.
Role Responsibilities:
- Primary support for H2, Firm Generation and Distributed Clean Energy teams, owning the relationship with business partner SVPs and their teams
- Lead and support monthly reporting for the specific project(s) the role supports. This may include preparing journal entries, free cash flow reporting, and detailed and timely analysis of resource and non-resource costs
- Lead and support timely financial planning and analysis for the development team. Complete accurate, high-quality reporting/planning/forecasting with both business stakeholders and RWECE leadership
- Lead and manage direct reports and others within the Investments Controlling team, including reviewing work product, setting expectations on roles and responsibilities, being a mentor and providing guidance and performance feedback
- Take ownership of tasks and deliverables related to quarterly forecasting, MTP (mid-term planning), monthly performance dialogs, business cases, ad-hoc analyses, special topics and savings initiatives
- Prepare materials for and lead meetings with Senior Management, RWECE C-suite, and other stakeholders
- Continuous process improvement: Support the proactive pursuit of best practices, processes, standardization, and tools that drive gains in efficiency, automation, and quality
Job Requirements and Experiences:
- BA/BS in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business (required); MBA or an Advanced degree is a plus, but not required
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in FP&A, Accounting, Controlling, Financial or Management Consulting or other Finance-related fields; Renewable energy experience is a plus
- Ability to motivate and develop team members
- Analytical and proactive problem-solver
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
- Excellent proficiency with SAP (moderate to advanced), Excel (moderate to advanced), PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI, other system/tools experience is a plus
- Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
- General accounting and IFRS knowledge a plus
- Language: English (fluent), German is a plus
- Other duties as assigned
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $120,000 - $160,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
