But we wouldn’t be there without world-class IT.

About the role

Working in close partnership with leading technology companies, our IT functions drive efficiency and innovation across the entire business. From day one, you’ll gain experience and insights into various IT areas, while also learning how we design and manage our overall IT strategy.

The aim is for you to thrive and grow as an IT professional. Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to work on real projects with real impact. You’ll get to understand our global business from the inside – contributing to meaningful projects in areas such as:

  • Group Cyber Security – managing security for the RWE Group worldwide
  • IT Solutions (COTS and in-house) – managing and operating a portfolio of digital and application solutions
  • IT Management & Strategy – developing and driving the IT & Digital Strategy and overseeing the execution of strategic initiatives
  • Innovation and Digitalization – shaping the future beyond RWE’s current IT landscape
  • IT Infrastructure – ensuring RWE’s IT systems are always available and running smoothly
  • Embedded IT – dedicated IT expertise for our commercial business, such as energy trading, freight and logistics, commercial asset optimization, or sales and origination
  • Market Data Solutions – providing the data backbone for decision-making, automated trading, and fundamental analysis within the energy trading industry
  • High-impact IT projects such as “Lead in Data” or “Lead in Cloud”

Digital technologies, including AI-enabled tools, are becoming an integral part of how we work at RWE. Throughout the programme, you will have opportunities to use these tools responsibly to enhance productivity, support decision-making, foster innovation and improve ways of working, always in line with RWE policies and responsible use principles.

From here, you’ll have a community of support.
While you’re on our graduate journey, we’re committed to providing you with a range of opportunities to grow and develop your skills. Alongside job rotations and technical training, you’ll be provided with comprehensive behavioural skills training with our expert partner, Cappfinity. This will enable you to harness your strengths from day one and identify new ways to utilise the key Skills That Build Skills. This will support you to reach your potential and goals, shaping your career path. The behavioural skills training is immersive, including interactive sessions where you can learn from our facilitators and your own peers, and self-led elements to support your application of learning back in your day-to-day role.

Our graduate programs have been designed to give you the chance to shape your own career path and personal development, with the support you need to succeed. You’ll have access to a graduate buddy and a senior mentor within your field who can advise you on rotations and introduce you to key people within the business.
