Senior Project Accountant

Summary:  The Senior Project Accountant's primary focus will be performing various month-end close duties including preparing standard and miscellaneous journal entries and preparing balance sheet account reconciliations and roll forward schedules.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare profit and loss analytical analyses and communicate results
  • Establish best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process in order to operate in an efficient and effective manner
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly US GAAP financial statements for review by the reporting team
  • Work closely with the Controlling Team to assist in wind farms variance analysis
  • Prepare responses to accounting related inquiries both internally and to external auditors
  • Maintain a high quality, deliverable-focused culture within the team
  • Provide ad hoc analyses as needed to internal customers
  • Dedication to continuously improve the efficiency of the accounting and reporting process
  • Assist in special projects

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting (required)
  • CPA (preferred)
  • 4 + years of progressive accounting experience
  • Familiar with IFRS and US GAAP (required)
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis in Excel (required)

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Potential for occasional weekend work required
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and make decisions for all issues related to his/her discipline(s) with limited and/or available information
  • Applicant must have an inquisitive and agile mindset to enable new and evolving issues to be addressed appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Applicant must be able to adjust to a dynamic work environment
