About the role
RWE Supply & Trading Americas (RWEST US) is expanding its HR presence to support a dynamic, fast-paced and high-performance trading environment. We are seeking a seasoned HR Business Partner who combines strong business partnering experience with expertise in leadership and organizational development.
As a senior individual contributor, you will be a trusted advisor to business leaders, helping them navigate complex people and organizational challenges. You will bring sound judgment, commercial thinking and a practical mindset – not only identifying issues, but recommending and implementing solutions that improve leadership capability, team performance and organizational effectiveness.
This role is ideal for an experienced HR Business Partner who enjoys moving between strategic advice and hands-on execution, and who has meaningful experience translating business challenges into practical people and development solutions.
- Partner with the business: Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on complex people topics, including performance, employee relations, team effectiveness, organizational change and broader people challenges.
- Diagnose and solve organizational challenges: Identify underlying leadership, team and organizational issues and translate them into practical, commercially minded solutions.
- Develop leaders and teams: Design, adapt and deliver targeted interventions that strengthen leadership capability, manager effectiveness and team performance.
- Drive talent and succession: Support talent reviews and succession planning, turning discussions into concrete development actions and follow-through.
- Support change and transformation: Help leaders and teams navigate organizational change and evolving business priorities.
- Translate global approaches locally: Adapt global HR, talent and leadership development frameworks to meet the needs of the US business.
- Collaborate across HR: Work closely with local and global HR colleagues to deliver a consistent and impactful people agenda.
Job requirements & experience
- Significant, progressive experience as an HR Business Partner or in a comparable senior HR role, ideally within a fast-paced, high-performance and/or international environment.
- A strong track record of handling complex people and organizational situations with sound judgment and confidence.
- Meaningful experience in leadership, team and/or organizational development, with the ability to translate business challenges into practical interventions.
- Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills, balancing business needs, people considerations and risk.
- Credibility and confidence when partnering with, influencing and constructively challenging senior leaders.
- A hands-on, pragmatic approach and the ability to move from diagnosis and recommendation through to execution.
- Strong experience with employee relations and US employment practices.
Advantageous, but not essential
- Experience in financial services, trading or another high-performance environment is strongly preferred. Exposure to investment or energy trading is an advantage.
- Experience with leadership assessment and development tools such as Hogan, Insights or 360° feedback
- Familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors or similar HR systems
- Exposure to HR analytics, people insights or AI-enabled HR tools

- Salary: $150,000 - $180,000
