RWE Clean Energy is seeking a Geospatial Associate to support the development of renewable energy projects across North America. Responsibilities will include project support in regard to map deliverables, web map solutions, spatial analysis, and cross-team collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform suitability analysis to assess sites for renewable energy development
- Organize and maintain geospatial datasets, surveys, land cover data, and other relevant sources
- Design web-based and static GIS products to communicate GIS data effectively to other teams and stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Project Development, Land Management, Engineers, and Construction to provide support through project life-cycles
- Assist with relevant internal and external documents and data to support development lifecycles, including queue submittals, lease exhibits, buildable areas, FAA filings, and survey data management
- Work in a collaborative environment with the GIS team and other internal stakeholders to identify effective solutions for project development
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geography, Geodetic Engineering/Science, GIS, or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience as a GIS Analyst or equivalent experience within the energy industry
- Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, such as solar, wind, battery storage, or green hydrogen
- Proficiency with GIS Software (ArcGIS Pro, QGIS)
- Knowledge of web mapping (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal, MapBox, CartoDB)
- Knowledge of spatial modeling techniques and proficiency in scripting languages (Python, R) and/or SQL is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Experience with MS365 Applications
- Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $67,000 - $101,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
