As one of our graduates, you will be able to create your own career path across our locations and gain broad exposure while working alongside expert colleagues and building your knowledge. By the end of the two-year program, you will have the ideal foundations to grow, develop, and thrive as a finance professional.

About the role

Over the course of two years, you’ll progress through four six-month placements of your own choosing, rotating across the entire RWE Group. Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to take on responsibilities with real impact, and you’ll be able to gain experience in a wide range of areas including:

• Controlling
• Risk Management
• Accounting
• Planning & Reporting
• Investment & Valuation
• Portfolio Management
• Investor Relations
• … and many more

Digital technologies, including AI-enabled tools, are becoming an integral part of how we work at RWE. Throughout the programme, you will have opportunities to use these tools responsibly to enhance productivity, support decision-making, foster innovation and improve ways of working, always in line with RWE policies and responsible use principles. 

Job requirements and experiences

Are you passionate about the energy industry and looking to make an impact with a dynamic, fast-growing business? Want to gain exposure to many different areas of finance, including highly quantitative work? Then you could be just the kind of person we’re looking for! Some relevant experience is useful, but not essential. What you must have is:

• A strong degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable subject area with a focus on Controlling, Finance, or Accounting
• Strong analytical skills
• Resilience
• Motivation to take on new challenges whether operating independently or within a team
• A desire to work collaboratively with a curious approach, challenging yourself to find new solutions
• Enthusiasm and drive to develop your skillset and seek out growth opportunities

While you’re on our graduate journey, we’re committed to providing you with a range of opportunities to grow and develop your skills. Alongside job rotations and technical training, you’ll be provided with comprehensive behavioural skills training with our expert partner, Cappfinity. This will enable you to harness your strengths from day one and identify new ways to utilise the key Skills That Build Skills. This will support you to reach your potential and goals, shaping your career path. The behavioural skills training is immersive, including interactive sessions where you can learn from our facilitators and your own peers, and self-led elements to support your application of learning back in your day-to-day role.

Our graduate programs have been designed to give you the chance to shape your own career path and personal development, with the support you need to succeed. You’ll have access to a graduate buddy and a senior mentor within your field who can advise you on rotations and introduce you to key people within the business.
