About the role

At RWE Supply & Trading, we’re seeking a highly experienced Director, PPAs and Structured Origination, to drive our fast-growing origination business to new heights. This is a defining opportunity for someone with deep market knowledge and the gravitas to represent RWE at the forefront of the energy transition.

Here, you’ll lead the origination, structuring, and execution of power purchase agreements and commercial contracts that provide offtake for our Wind, Solar, and Battery investments. You will be building influential customer and industry relationships, representing the company at key networking events, and attracting significant business - all with the ambitious goal of strengthening and expanding RWE’s commercial capabilities in the Americas.

 

  • Take charge of origination, structuring, and closing of complex PPAs and commercial agreements across multiple technologies (Wind, Solar, Battery)
  • Cultivate and expand a robust network of customer and industry relationships to unlock new opportunities and partnerships
  • Act as RWE’s lead ambassador at major industry events, building our presence and credibility in US markets
  • Strategically grow the origination business in the Americas, contributing directly to ambitious commercial goals
  • Partner with investment and project teams to maximise the value of RWE’s assets through innovative deal-making
  • Play a visible leadership role, both internally and externally, that shapes the market and RWE’s impact within it

 

Job requirements and experience

  • Recognised leader with proven senior-level experience in PPA origination and structured energy deals within North America
  • Track record of delivering large, complex commercial agreements for renewable assets (wind, solar, storage)
  • Extensive industry network and credibility, plus outstanding relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Deep knowledge of US energy markets, contract structures, and regulatory frameworks
  • Strong strategic and analytical abilities, plus courage to set a clear direction and make tough decisions
  • Collaborative approach, thriving in a fast-paced, ambitious, and growth-focused team
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, always seeking to spot value and drive innovation
