CONTRACTOR-Development Outreach Manager

Functional area: Renewables 



  • Fully support local outreach efforts for projects to include public outreach for local gov’t and landowner meetings to help projects grow with support
  • Attend local gov’t and large landowner meetings to include open houses with development and gov’t affairs
  • Develop / assist in public outreach plans for projects, and help to implement, lead, and maintain outreach plans and efforts
  • Develop and implement plans to maximize landowner support and decrease opposition; also help to influence those on the fence into supportive positions.
  • Establish partnerships with local environmental and economic organizations to enhance community support.
  • Manage outreach materials, project websites, social media outreach, etc.
  • Identify opposition groups; update and maintain AGOL wind opposition map.
  • Conduct testimonial interviews with landowners


Additional tasks include

  • Establish partnerships with local environmental and economic organizations
  • Aassist development in landowner outreach meetings (dinners, open houses, informational meetings);  
  • Organize wind farm tours and local community events
  • Donation assistance
  • Community informational newsletters in concert with development and gov’t affairs
  • Assist in quarterly development update letters with development to participating/leased landowners
  • Media messaging, outreach and coordination.



  • Experience working in the public sector (2-5+ years) strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the structure and function of county government including experience with permitting and regulatory issues is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of agricultural and/or environmental issues a plus. Experience working in renewable energy, environmental or engineering sciences, construction or real estate a plus.
