Energy Storage Development, Senior Manager

The Storage Development team at RWE Renewables Americas is responsible for initiating, developing, and acquiring utility-scale energy storage projects in the US and Canada. The Development Senior Manager will play a key role in delivering renewable energy projects in alignment with RWE's strategy in North America. 


Your Future Plans:


  • Serve as regional lead and project lead for project origination and development, including negotiation of site control agreements, managing site surveys and due diligence, securing land use and environmental approvals, and advancing projects through the interconnection process, additional tasks may include obtaining project easements, curative title work, and assisting with energy marketing
  • Coordinate all development and greenfield activities for assigned territory, including soliciting and procuring deliverables from external consultants and coordinating internal strategy and market evaluation activities
  • Gain a holistic understanding of projects/markets under responsibility (commercials, development, transmission, design, delivery, operations), to effectively manage the whole project from origination to investment decision. Facilitate creative solutions beyond the scope of pure development activities
  • Coordinate with internal teams on interconnection, new market evaluation, power marketing, engineering, legal, procurement, construction personnel, as needed to ensure effective execution of assigned storage projects
  • Ensure project financial models are kept up to date, strive to improve competitiveness of assigned projects and manage the internal financial approval process for assigned development projects in alignment with company strategy and goals
  • Conduct risk analyses/assessments and recommend mitigation measures
  • Manage project budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables for assigned development projects


Your Powerfull Skills:


  • Several years of experience in project development applicable to renewable energy and/or energy storage in the United States
  • Experience in the full project development life-cycle, including market analysis, origination/greenfielding, permitting, late-stage development and M&A transactions
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary internal and external teams to develop and assess risks to project pipeline
  • Ability to lead large cross-functional project teams
  • Structured and organized, able to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong analytical skills, presentation skills and attention to detail
