Solar Site Supervisor

The site supervisor is responsible for all aspects of Solar & Storage operations, including personnel safety, oversee daily work activities, review work schedules, scheduling maintenances, maintaining project availability, the training and safety of all technicians and contractors, and communicating with the management team.

 

Your Future Plans:

 

  • Responsible for all safety aspects at the site, including Safety Walks in the field, but not limited to the orientation of new employees, site visitors and contractors.
  • Assure operations performance targets (availability, production, actual vs expected, budget management, revenue, etc.) are achieved for the facility.
  • Supervise the activities of the site technicians and O&M Contractors to ensure operation and maintenance of the facility is in compliance with contracted requirements and performance targets.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities, including those performed during scheduled outages and overhauls, are accurately recorded and documented to identify the failure history, mean time between failures and root causes.
  • Responsible for providing general supervision & development of all employees at the site.
  • Prepare the annual site O&M budget and recommend capital improvements/enhancements.
  • Create and complete Work Orders, Service Reports and Purchase Order Submission.
  • Manage tool and part inventories.
  • Ensure daily, weekly and monthly operations reports are prepared and submitted on time.
  • Expedite the quick repair of any BOP, Substation, or other issue that falls within our area of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with landowners, local and state authorities and the general public, where required.
  • Responsible for all Quality Control activity on site, performing Quality Control Assessments of work by Technicians and subcontractors.
  • Maintains a full understanding of all contractual obligations for the project and documentation of variances.

 

Additional Duties:

 

  • Under 10% travel.
  • Work in Extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to work alone or group environment.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Shift work.
  • Routine operation of a computer/tablet and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Frequent oral and written communications.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holiday as required.
  • First aide/CPR/AED
  • Osha Certified
  • All other duties assigned. 

 

 

Your Powerful Skills:

 

At least 7 years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission and/or distribution, including at least 2 years in the wind and/or solar industry, and including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisor position.  

 SUBSTITUTION CLAUSE:  A 2 year or 4 year college degree from an accredited school, other than correspondence or on-line, in Business or a technical hard science (engineering, physics, power, or closely similar) may substitute for 2 years of experience. A current journeyman or master electrician license may substitute for 2 years of experience. Each 5 years of US military service in a technical rating may substitute of 1 year with honorable discharge.
