About the Role:  

 

You will take a diverse and proactive role in strategic matters, consultations and bid preparation to enable us win upcoming offshore wind tenders and or mature offshore wind projects which have been awarded up tot Financial Investment Decision (like OranjeWind). As a core member of the Benelux Development team you will support our offshore wind projects through the development stages, working closely together with the projects teams, financial manager, commercial analysis managers, PPA managers, projects development managers, bid managers, procurement and package managers. The scope of work also encompasses support to adjacent markets like citizen participation, ecology, system integration, circularity, international corporate social responsibility and hydrogen offshore. The role will be based in our Brussels office, focus will be on the Belgium Princess Elizabeth Zone tenders. 

 

Your Future Plans: 
 

Act as a Senior Development Manager for Belgian and Dutch offshore wind tenders and projects, reporting to the Project Lead (in bidding phase) and or Project Director (in pre-construction phase):

 

  • Build and coordinate a stable and effective project team with certain focus areas based on the Royal Decree, tender procedure and award criteria like citizen participation, ecology, system integration, consenting, circularity and hydrogen offshore
  • Develop and deliver the optimal integrated solutions to fulfil tender requirements and submit winning bids on auctions for our future offshore wind projects (bidding)
  • Implement innovative solutions in close collaboration with our engineering departments and external innovation partners (pre-construction)
  • Find sweet spot between technical, commercial and financial conditions
  • Understand and optimize the business case together with your team
  • Report progress and present decision material to the Steering committee
  • Long term relationship building, liaise on a continual basis with public authorities (for example Belgian Federal Government, Ministry of Energy, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Represent RWE Renewables on Offshore related topics at local and regional stakeholder events, in networks and towards respective authorities, like BOP, CREG, Elia

 

Your Profile:  

 

  • A master degree, preferably in renewable energy, engineering, innovation or equivalent qualification
  • Advanced leadership skills
  • Advanced project management and development management skills and experience
  • Experienced and established professional in the offshore wind sector
  • Strong experience & performance management skills and delivery focused
  • Solid understanding of tender requirements and the ability to critically look at the bid documents from the angle of the tendering body
  • Ability to negotiate with potential partners, including development partners
  • Ability to maintain sight of the ‘big picture’ and overarching expectations
  • Experience in management of programme and budgets and reporting activities to senior executive and Board level
  • Fluent (written and verbal) in Dutch and English and ability to communicate complex technical issues to internal and external stakeholders including authorities and contractors
  • You have good people management skills
