Functional area: Business Development 



As Head of Development Services Americas you will be responsible for supporting the structuring and optimization of the Americas Offshore Wind business including efficient and comprehensive reporting, excellence in bid management, development pipeline management, and other strategic analyses and projects as required to support growth and sustainability of the business.  Furthermore you will ensure and promote best practices and project development standards across the region from origination to FID/ FC​ and optimising value at all wind development projects in the Americas.


In addition, this role will manage a team of dedicated development services professionals across multiple project development roles that support offshore wind development projects throughout the Americas.  It is expected that the selected candidate will drive excellence in each of these services whilst ensuring RWE achieves best-in-class service delivery models for its Americas Offshore Development pipeline.  

Your Tasks


  • Hiring and balancing standardised development roles as needed by project activity in the region​
  • Ensuring application of best practice and project development standards across the portfolio ​
  • Identifying, evaluating and driving project value optimisation ensuring minimal LCOE and other business case factors in the region to ensure successful FID/ FC​
  • Ensuring optimal service delivery of development projects across the region including development services such as bid management, marine affairs and consenting.
  • Ensuring lessons learned from previous projects are implemented into next development projects including from projects from across RWE’s global offshore wind portfolio.


Your Profile


  • University degree or equivalent in engineering, economics, finance, industrial organization or similar highly quantitative speciality
  • 7-10 years of prior project development experience in complex settings of commercial, technical and regulatory boundary conditions
  • Exceptional MS Office, oral and written communications, and presentation skills at an executive level.
  • 5+ years of prior top management consulting experience is a strong plus
  • Experience with lean management techniques
  • Strong commercial understanding paired with a strong HSE and wellbeing mindset
  • English proficiency is mandatory, German proficiency is a plus.
