Role Responsibilities:
- Core Inventory & SAP Management
- Create and manage Purchase Requisitions (PRs) to support site operations and Balance of Plant (BOP) maintenance activities
- Perform all inventory transactions accurately within SAP (goods movements, transfers, adjustments, etc)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date master data, including material creation, extensions, and updates
- Ensure inventory levels, bin locations, and material tracking are correctly maintained in SAP MM
- Support accurate recordkeeping and reconciliation of all inventory levels across assigned sites[
- Inventory Optimization & Analysis
- Analyze product usage trends and adjust MRP settings (with Operations approval) to optimize stock levels
- Proactively monitor and maintain inventory thresholds to ensure material availability
- Track serialized components and ensure compliance with applicable standards
- Provide inventory forecasting insights and recommend improvements to stocking strategies[
- Operations & Site Support
- Support multiple sites independently with minimal supervision
- Perform quarterly inventory counts and maintain high accuracy levels
- Conduct monthly site visits, inspections, and operational observations
- Stay current on required parts, materials, and maintenance strategies for assigned sites
- Act as the liaison between OEMs, vendors, and site operations
- Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Review vendor quotes, specifications, and technical cut sheets in coordination with Engineering and Procurement
- Manage open supplier orders, track delivery timelines, and communicate risks to stakeholders (risk reporting)[
- Identify and evaluate alternative parts or solutions when applicable
- Assist with resolving invoicing discrepancies and supplier issues
- Warranty & Lifecycle Management
- Manage and track warranty claims for applicable sites
- Support Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) processes and material obsolescence planning
- Coordinate with OEMs to resolve warranty-related issues and part replacements
- Process Improvement & Leadership (ICS II Focus)
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to inventory workflows and procedures
- Assist in developing and refining inventory control standards and best practices
- Serve as a subject matter resource for SAP and inventory processes within the team
- Support training and onboarding of junior Inventory Control Specialists
- Lead or assist with special projects related to inventory optimization, logistics, or system improvements
- Safety & Compliance
- Demonstrate a strong safety-first mindset and promote a culture of safety
- Maintain organized, clean, and compliant warehouse environments
- Ensure proper material handling, labeling, and storage practices
Job Requirements and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or technical field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory, warehouse, or material management (ICS II level expectation); Minimum 3 years of experience with SAP MM / PM or similar ERP systems
- Willingness to obtain and maintain:
- Forklift certification
- CPR / First Aid
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Goods receipts, goods issues, and inventory reconciliation
- Material tracking and stock level management
- SAP PR/PO processes and inventory transactions
- Advanced proficiency in SAP data management and reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reporting, formulas); working knowledge of Word and Outlook
- Ability to analyze inventory data, trends, and demand signals to make recommendations
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues independently
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to research and resolve invoicing, inventory, and material transaction issues
- Ability to independently support multiple sites and prioritize workload effectively
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience reviewing technical documentation, vendor quotes, and specifications
- Ability to identify alternative parts or sourcing strategies when required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
- Ability to influence decisions through data-driven recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and vendors
- Mentor or support junior team members (ICS II expectation)
- Ability to operate forklifts, telehandlers, or similar equipment (or willingness to become certified)
- Willingness to travel up to ~40% with occasional overnight stays
- Ability to work in varying environmental and weather conditions
- Availability outside normal hours to support critical site issues as needed
