The Technical Product Manager is a technical delivery leader translating system architecture, data dependencies, and business priorities to ensure AI products are delivered at scale.

This role leads execution of the technical product roadmap, translating requirements into well-defined technical backlogs with clear milestones, dependencies, and acceptance criteria, and driving end-to-end system design alignment across models, pipelines, and applications.

The Technical Product Manager oversees the technical aspects of the product, influences strategic delivery priorities, and is accountable for production readiness, performance management, and system-level KPIs and SLAs across the AI product portfolio.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Translate strategic product roadmaps into executable delivery plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and success criteria
  • Align business priorities with system architecture, data dependencies, and platform constraints to ensure plans are realistic, well-sequenced, and tied to measurable outcomes
  • Translate requirements into well-defined technical backlogs with clear dependencies and acceptance criteria for engineering and data teams, ensuring squads have the clarity needed to execute with speed and quality
  • Partner with the Data/AI platform owner, Data/AI platform Architect, and Solution Architect to ensure solutions adhere to target architecture and defining key integration patterns across models, pipelines, and applications
  • Lead technical dependency management and trade-off decisions (e.g., latency vs. accuracy, batch vs. real-time) to enable scalable and feasible solutions, engaging stakeholders to resolve blockers and maintain delivery momentum
  • Ensure production readiness and performance across AI products, including non-functional requirements (scalability, reliability, security) and system-level KPIs and SLAs

Job Requirements and Experience:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in computer science, data science, STEM, or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in technical product management, software delivery, or related roles, including experience leading delivery across complex, cross-functional AI or data platform programs
  • Proven ability to co-own and evolve a technical product roadmap, balancing business priorities against technical constraints and platform dependencies in fast-moving AI delivery environments
  • Experience leading technical dependency management and trade-off decisions (e.g., latency vs. accuracy, batch vs. real-time), with the credibility to challenge engineering assumptions and drive feasible solutions
  • Deep understanding of non-functional requirements and production readiness standards, including scalability, reliability, security, and system-level KPI and SLA management for AI products
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into well-structured backlogs with clear interfaces, dependencies, and acceptance criteria that engineering and data teams can execute against
  • Highly skilled at engaging and influencing senior stakeholders across business, architecture, and engineering, translating technical trade-offs into clear recommendations for executive audiences
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, overseeing a team of engineers, and driving consistent delivery processes
  • Solid execution discipline and ownership, managing milestones, dependencies, and delivery risks proactively across a complex AI product portfolio
  • Experience in the power, utilities, or clean energy sector, including knowledge of U.S. power markets, renewable project development, and clean energy technologies preferred
  • Proficiency in standard product and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Miro) and productivity tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel)
  • This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWE Americas offices and field locations
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
