Sr. Commercial Analyst/Manager - Mexico

Your Future Plans:


  • Follow key market development and industry trends in Mexico, including regulatory framework and renewable incentives, power market fundamentals, competitor activities, etc.; support the expansion of the renewable business of RWE Renewables in Mexico.
  • Work closely with the Origination & Development team in Mexico, bring timely insights into the different development stages of the projects regarding preferred locations for grid access and mitigating congestion risks, regulatory framework and optimal offtake strategy.
  • Develop revenue assumptions for project financial modeling, steer long-term price forecasts based on market fundamentals and key beliefs, with support from external market and technical advisors when required.
  • Track transmission development, develop congestion outlooks for renewable projects with support of Congestion & Transmission team and external technical consultants.
  • Support the analysis of offtake solutions to ensure the appropriate risk/reward profile of PPAs in line with RWE standards; provide the appropriate economic analysis to ensure the economic valuation and bankability of the proposed PPAs, and support commercial negotiations.
  • Work in a dynamic team environment, fostering and managing close relationships with relevant internal stakeholders across business and functional units, to ensure intra-company collaboration and to ramp up the integration of the new business unit


Your Powerful Skills:


  • 3 or more years of relevant experiences in commercial activities in the power market, preferred in areas of market fundamentals analysis, price forecasting, regulatory, renewable projects, PPA analysis, etc. Understanding of trends and key challenges related to renewable project development is required.
  • Previous exposure to the Mexico power market and renewable projects is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical capability and quantitative skills, familiar with at least one of the following programming software: MATLAB, VBA, R, Python
  • Experiences in transmission systems, PPA analysis and negotiation will be a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills which enable effective outreach with internal and external stakeholders, acting comfortably in cross-cultural teams, collaborating across country boundaries with a sense for diversity and inclusion; ability to building and maintain a contact network and business relationships.



The position requires travelling, across the country and internationally, to visit relevant stakeholders, and participate in industry events.
