As Senior Compliance Manager in the RWE Clean Energy compliance team, you will support our business across the Americas on compliance matters relating to topics such as culture building, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and providing daily advice on other compliance related topics. Reporting to the Vice President, Ethics, Integrity & Compliance, you will be an integrated part of the RWE Group-wide Compliance community which spans across the globe. In line with RWE’s mission on “our energy for a sustainable life”, you will be actively developing and implementing compliance strategies, contributing to multidisciplinary projects, and furthering the compliance program across different jurisdictions and markets. You actively implement different types of training, documentation, processes and other compliance focused operational advice to the Americas business in the United States, Mexico, Chile and Canada. 
 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Advise stakeholders on complex compliance topics such as policy implementation and compliance risk assessments
  • Design, set up, implement and maintain compliance management systems
  • Work to consistently support the RWECE Compliance Management System (CMS) implementation 
  • Support RWECE VP of Compliance with respect to preparation for both internal and external audits (“audit readiness”)
  • Design in-person compliance training concepts and execute presentation format, deliver trainings
  • Support day-to-day compliance activities, including project gate approval compliance assessments, KYC reviews, merger integration due diligence, conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, donations, sponsorships and memebrships, and consultants and agents review
  • Maintain and audit compliance processes and databases on a regular basis
  • Proactively recommend new or additional compliance-related processes and procedures to improve and maintain the CMS
  • Support the compliance risk assessment process, including a top down review and interviews of relevant management
  • Manage and implement, with the alignment of the compliance team, the compliance communication program
  • Manage and prepare presentations and reports for executive-level management, related to quarterly compliance reporting, executive reporting, risk assessments etc

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s level degree (or minimum of 12 years of comparable experience)
  • A minimum of twelve years of relevant work experience. Prior experience in a governance, audit or compliance function within the energy industry or with a regulatory authority is preferred
  • Strategic thinker, enjoy creative processes, pick up topics fast and enjoy working in a collaborative and international environment
  • Prioritize in a fast-paced environment while balancing the big picture and attention to detail comes easy to you
  • Ability to plan and execute such plans effectively
  • Bring excellent business judgment and communication skills, both verbal and written. Additional languages supporting the RWE business (e.g., German, Spanish) are advantageous
  • Easily build strong relationships with team members and business partners
  • Advise stakeholders on complex topics, communicate comfortably across all levels of the organization including with Company executives, deal with conflicts professionally and defend your position when challenged by senior management
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, setting up, implementing, and maintaining compliance management systems
     

 

 

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York is $135,000 - $202,000 . The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
