The Planning Manager oversees and participates in the planning and coordination of Owner Supplied Equipment (OSE) for the portfolio of potential projects in the Development database.  Principal responsibilies are the planning/forecasting for equipment requirements, and allocation of purchased OSE to specific projects.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the planning lead for a specific technology and/or development region
  • Maintain an awareness of all projects/locations within their purview and the status of key materials for each through coordination with stakeholders
  • Actively work relationships with suppliers and key POCs
  • Organize and lead key meetings for POCs where needed
  • Identify potential concerns with project-level logistics, solve issues with vendor/carriers and site contractors, and elevate any problems or issues with Leadership
  • Represent the Planning function in cross-functional leadership meetings and project steering committees, providing updates, risk insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Support process improvement initiatives within the Planning function, including digital tool enhancements, reporting automation, and schedule review frameworks

 

Job Requirements and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Preferred)
  • Minimum 8 years' professional including minimum 5 years' data management experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
  • Broad understanding of construction project planning, including schedule logic, float, and dependencies
  • Demonstrates capacity to develop and maintain full project schedules using tools like Primavera, MS Project, or internal systems
  • Understands key planning inputs from Logistics, Engineering, and Construction and incorporates them into the master schedule
  • Coordinates planning across multiple projects with varied scopes and timelines
  • Identifies schedule risks and applies planning tools to develop mitigation strategies
  • Balances competing priorities and uses judgment to adjust timelines while maintaining critical path
  • Serves as a central point of contact for Planning with cross-functional teams
  • Leads planning meetings with internal stakeholders and vendors to align on timelines and sequencing
  • Communicates schedule status, risks, and critical path changes to project leadership
  • May provide task guidance to junior team members
  • Leads the planning workstream for assigned projects and ensures alignment with PMO expectation

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.)
  • Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work day
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned 
  • This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $106,000 - $160,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
